Helen teaches modern British history at the University of Cambridge and is a fellow of St John's College. She is the author of three books, The British People and the League of Nations (Manchester, 2011), Women of the World: The Rise of the Female Diplomat (Bloomsbury, 2014), and, most recently, Double Lives: A History of Working Motherhood (Bloomsbury, 2020).
