Tuesday 22 May to Sunday 2 September
The College Lane Learning Resources Centre (LRC) is over 20 years old and is in need of some essential maintenance and repairs to ensure it can continue to provide key services to our students, staff and visitors.
This summer’s makeover includes roof repairs, lift upgrade, fire-alarm replacement, lighting improvements and café seating refurbishment. These works are a major undertaking that will bring significant benefits to all LRC users. And that’s not all…..following student feedback we’re investing in new study furniture and reconfiguring our learning spaces to provide an improved experience that better meets our students’ needs.
Safety of our users is paramount and whilst maintenance works take place, the ground, first and second floor of the College Lane LRC will be closed to students and visitors.
Please note that during this period we are still welcoming students but access will be restricted to the Lower Ground floor where the following services will be available:
- Borrow a book using our book reservation service. Library staff will retrieve the books and make them available for collection on the lower ground floor. After reserving your item, please await an email notification to collect your item from the LRC.
- 50 individual study spaces (including PC study) available in rooms LG1 and LG2.
Please note that there will be no access to visitors for the duration of the works. Alternative study spaces are available at the de Havilland LRC where it’s business as usual for the duration of the Summer.
Please check the latest status of LRC services on our service status page at https://status.herts.ac.uk/. You can also check the latest LRC PC availability using the Herts Mobile app at mobile.herts.ac.uk.
