Hertfordshire Law Clinic

Hertfordshire Law Clinic opened in October 2019 so was still a fledgling clinic when the University went into lockdown in March 2020. In one day, the staff had to find a way to continue to run the clinic online, or face it being closed down. This would have been a real shame for the student volunteers gaining brilliant practical experience and for the local community who were making good use of getting access to free advice.

Not only did the clinic manage to move online and survive - it actually thrived. We expanded the areas of law covered and brought in new external supervisors during lockdown and managed to run the first Clinical Legal Education Module.
