Whatever your sport, you’ll be at home at the University of Hertfordshire.

Our £15 million Sports Village offers some of the best university sports facilities in the country, including a swimming pool and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

Basketball, aerobics, squash, badminton – it’s all here on campus. And, if you fancy something different, like go-karting or ice skating, you’ll find facilities nearby.

 

Hertfordshire Sports Village 

Based at the de Havilland Campus, Hertfordshire Sports Village is open to students and the community.

Facilities include:

  • artificial rugby and football pitches
  • an indoor cricket hall
  • squash courts
  • a 12-metre high climbing wall

Rub Shoulders with the Pro's 

Fancy rubbing shoulders with Olympic athletes in our gym or sitting next to a member of the England Rugby squad in the refectory?

Our Sports village is used as a training base for a wide range of professional sportspeople and teams including Arsenal ladies football team and Saracens rugby team - in fact the Saracens team are so impressed with our facilities that they have moved their whole administrative and training base on campus. 

Plus, we're bidding to be a training base for teams for the 2012 Olympics - so whatever your sporting goals, you'll be surrounded by inspiring people to help you get there. 

Join the Team 

Whether it's sport or just keeping fit that your into, there's something for you at Hertfordshire.  Join one of our many sports teams, work out while watching your favourite TV channels on your personal screen in the gym, or take one of our classes - yoga, dance, tai chi, pilates - it's all here.  Advice is always on hand from our professionally trained staff, who can help you plan your fitness regime or arrange a fitness check for you. Gym memberships are heavily discounted for students and sports teams or you can use the facilities on a pay and play basis.
