Great careers start here
The University has longstanding links with business, industry, public sector and professional organisations, and our commitment to being the UK's leading business-facing University means you benefit from our drive to ensure that you, our graduates, are the first choice for employers. So, whatever you want to do - or if you're not quite sure yet - we'll do everything in our power to help you on your way to a happy and fulfilling future career.
All the right connections

As well as working with big blue-chip companies, we’re also the first UK university with its own business support organisation. Hertfordshire Business Link has over 50 advisers who work with small- and medium-sized companies, creating opportunities for placements and jobs. This unique partnership means our students and graduates have access to thousands of companies, all looking for ways in which to improve their business.
Courses based on business needs
From Economics to English Literature, every one of our courses is designed to boost the skills employers are looking for – even if you don’t realise it. That’s because each school works closely with experienced business people to plan its teaching programme. For example, in our Business School, all students study modules in employability and entrepreneurship, helping our students stay one step ahead in the job market, and employers in get the highly skilled graduates they are looking for.
Hands-on experience
Practical experience in business or industry gives you a real advantage when you start looking for jobs. We offer work placements both in the UK and overseas on almost all our programmes, giving you the opportunity to develop those skills you'll need in the world of work. If you’d like to go on a placement year, take a short placement or get involved in a project with a business, just talk to the careers team.
