Specialist services available to disabled students
Every year a significant number of our applicants and students disclose a disability. We are delighted that so many disabled students choose to study at the University of Hertfordshire.
We take proactive steps to provide an inclusive environment and make reasonable adjustments to meet individuals' disability-related needs.
Disability Services has range of specialist services available to students including:
- Specialist, expert advice for staff and students
- A team of Disability Advisers who can agree support and adjustments for individual students
- Specialist Study Skills
- Mentoring
- Assistive technology training
- Loan of specialist equipment
- Notetakers and assistants
- Organising communication support / sign language interpreters
- DSA needs assessment service
- Diagnostic assessment for Specific Learning Difficulties (e.g. dyslexia)
