The proposed research project aims to provide excellent lubricants for wind turbines in order to improve the energy efficiency of a wind power generator, to reduce the maintenance cost and to improve the life span of the gear box in a wind turbine. This interdisciplinary investigation studies the effects of nano-materials on a variety of lubricants and a large number of lab tests are carried out in the Tribology Suite at the university. It is hoped that the outcomes of the project will promote more wind application of the sustainable green energy.
