The project is aimed at producing at producing a pseudo three dimensional mathematical model that numerically simulates the electro/fluid/thermo-dynamic behaviour and performance of a single planar celled solid oxide fuel cell. This model combined with extensive research into current shortfalls in SOFC designs, is used to produce a novel monolithic SOFC topological design within the maxims of cost reduction and performance enhancement for the purpose of commercialisation.
