Studentships in the Microfluidics and Microengineering Group

Microfluidics and Microengineering student

We are always looking to expand our research group and welcome applications from prospective PhD students, particularly in the following broad areas:

  • Microfluidic sample processing
  • Particle modelling and analysis
  • Microfabrication for microfluidics

There are a number of routes open to qualified, motivated individuals who wish to undertake postgraduate research in microfluidics and microengineering leading to PhD.

Funded PhDs are advertised in national and international press.

Self-funded and part-time PhD

Suitably qualified candidates may also register as self-funded full-time or part-time PhD students, contingent on sufficient resources being available and research staff commitments.

Applications are considered on an individual basis and may be made at any time. Potential applicants should contact Dr Ian Johnston for advice on qualifications, fees, possible research projects and working arrangements.

Post-doctoral research

We also welcome applications from established researchers, who wish to make a research visit to the Microfluidic and Microengineering Research Group at the University of Hertfordshire. Please contact Dr Ian Johnston for further information.
