Polymer materials research for microfluidics applications.

Rapid prototyping technologies are being applied to an ever increasing number of application areas. However, use of non-traditional engineering materials means that there are frequently material properties which have not been fully analysed in relation to new applications.

The Microfluidics and Microengineering Group have specific expertise in polymer microfabrication techniques as well as microfluidic and microengineering applications.

We are seeking to extend this knowledge by conducting research into the mechanical material properties of specific polymeric materials in order to optimise design of future microfabricated devices.
