The Materials and Structures Research group has hosted or organised various research meetings and workshops.
These include:
Optimising Natural Fibre Composites Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN)
A KTN meeting on natural fibres took place at the University of Hertfordshire on the 21st of February 2012.
The meeting was organised by Dr Nigel Keen (Materials KTN) and Dr Guogang Ren (University of Hertfordshire).
It was attended by about 40 delegates from UK industry and academia.
The programme ranged from natural fibre treatment, composite preparation, properties, applications and future prospects.
Ceramics Network (DCERN)
A DCERN meeting organised by MBDA and the group was held at the University’s De Havilland campus on the 29th of August 2009.
The meeting attracted 45 delegates from the UK industry and academia.
