Information ethics enhanced by philosophy research

Professor Luciano Floridi

Living in the information age brings enormous benefits and opportunities, but it also raises unprecedented moral questions.

The University of Hertfordshire’s Professor Luciano Floridi, who holds the UNESCO Chair in Information and Computer Ethics, works with academics, industry and policy makers exploring how to deal with these profound changes and use technology to build a just and fair society.

Google is collaborating with Professor Floridi, drawing on his research into the philosophy and ethics of information - two areas in which he is an international authority.

Clinical applications supported by philosophy research

In challenging conventional theories about the basis of interpersonal relations, professors Daniel D. Hutto and Shaun Gallagher have helped to inspire new and promising approaches for a range of clinical applications.

These include diagnosing and treating schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorders.
