Music Composition and Performance Research Group

Overview

The Music Composition and Performance Research Group (MCPRG) hosts a wide variety of composers and performers.

A musician performing infront of an audience.

The group reflects the interdisciplinary nature of music making in the University of Hertfordshire.

Performance mediated by technology is an important aspect of much of our research, with artists exploring wide-ranging stylistic boundaries ranging from algorithmic sound and light projections to music theatre.

Performance research in practice

Our staff have had concert-hall works broadcast on national radio and we are in regular attendance at leading international music conferences.

Our composers and performers have appeared in events throughout the world.

Anarchy in the Organism

A live performance version with Kate Romano (E flat Clarinet). Written by Simeon Nelson, Nick Rothwell and Rob Godman (Sound Projection).
