Literary Hertfordshire is a collaborative project between the University of Hertfordshire and Hertfordshire County Council.  

The project is led by Dr Pat Wheeler.

Aims of the project

Since its launch in 2011 the project has aimed to:

  • explore the county's rich literary heritage and archives.
  • provide snapshots of past and present Hertfordshire authors.
  • build a place for local communities to discover their literary heritage.
  • draw on the research skills of our students and the expertise of local enthusiasts.

Events

2013: The Locations of Austen

An international conference marking the 200th anniversary of Pride and Prejudice, set in Hertfordshire.
