Education research at the University of Hertfordshire covers a diverse range of areas.

Our research

We use both quantitative and qualitative methods including:

  • Research into policing and the justice system - such as Studies of the impact of probation staff on prolific offenders; and The Choices and Consequences programme.
  • Research on policy and leadership - such as Work with the European Policy Network on School Leadership (a 4 year study of school leadership and implications for policy); participation in the BELMAS-UCEA Collaborative Research Project (International School Leadership Development); and development of a degrees of democracy framework as a tool for research and reflection and extending leadership capacity.
