Research activity at each quality level:

  • 25 per cent – World-leading (4*)
  • 30 per cent - Internationally excellent (3*)
  • 35 per cent - Internationally recognised (2*)
  • 5 per cent - Nationally recognised (1*)

An outstanding outcome

The Nursing and Midwifery research submitted by the University of Hertfordshire was judged to be:

  • 90 per cent – of international quality
  • 55 per cent – of world-leading or internationally excellent quality
  • 35 per cent – internationally recognised

The submission was led by researchers from the Centre for Research in Primary and Community Care (CRIPACC) in collaboration with the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

The Centre is delighted by its success in RAE 2008 which sees it ranked 6th equal out of 35 submissions to this UK-wide exercise.

  • research environment (including research grant income and research students)
  • indicators of esteem
