When you register to study for a research degree at the University of Hertfordshire, you can access researcher development through the Generic Training for Researchers (GTR) programme.

The GTR programme, consisting of over 50 sessions, provides information and development on:

  • the research degree process.
  • information technology and information management.
  • personal development and employability skills.
  • knowledge and enterprise awareness.

Sessions are designed to:

  • help you, as a research student, have an effective start to your study at the University
  • develop important personal skills, as well as awareness of research governance and management
  • engage and influence others
  • improve communication skills and maximise the impact of research

Sessions run from October through to March each year, with a tailored event for Part Time research students in September.
