The Polyclinic Programme
The evaluation is intended to establish in what ways the federated and other models of polyclinic can be generalised across to the commissioning of other polyclinics.
The project will also, where polyclinics or aspects of them are less successful, identify the underlying causes. The project can be seen as having four key purposes:
- Evaluation. To assess the quality of polyclinic care with regard to patient experience and outcomes.
- Key factor analysis. Understanding the service delivery and patient experience of the polyclinic to identify key factors that will enable service improvement.
- Lesson learning. Feeding back to commissioners and providers on which areas of care they are getting right and which need improvement action; ensuring these lessons are learned for future waves.
- Quality improvement. Identifying the areas that need improvement and for which specific patient groups.
