Funding - CLiCIR

Through the Research Design Service (formerly HRDSU), CLiCIR has a history of working with local NHS research groups, and with commercial partners to develop funding bids. The NIHR contributes roughly £180,000 a year to the RDS Hertfordshire.

Ongoing changes in the NHS R&D infrastructure (2007) have provided a renewed impetus for NHS researchers to engage in seeking funding from external sources (funding councils and NGOs).

Since 2005, CLiCIR has contributed to over 60 funding bids for a total of around £14.5 million.

To date £1.2 million has been awarded for 16 projects, with decisions pending on six projects totalling a further £1.17 million.
