Learning in Business Research Unit (LIBRU)
Description
The Learning in Business Research Unit (LIBRU), launched in January 2011, provides support to staff working on research and consultancy projects related to Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL), e-learning and work-based learning.
Members of the unit have worked on more than fifteen internally and externally funded learning and teaching projects and have developed expertise in the areas of wikis for collaborative learning, teaching statistics, team-teaching, work-based learning etc.

Aims of the unit
The aim of the unit is to strengthen research-informed basis for improvements in learning and teaching practice leading to enhanced students’ learning experience and further development of scholarly pedagogical culture within the Business School.

The unit’s research themes include: Scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL), Collaborative learning, Teaching statistics, e-learning, Team teaching, Work-based learning, Experiential learning, Distance learning, Research-informed teaching, Students' expectations, development and engagement, Action research, Staff engagement, Multicultural groups

- HEA BMAF funded projects on wiki-based collaborative learning, collaborative action learning and plagiarism
