Research office

The Research office is comprised of two areas of expertise looked after by the:

alongside the core team.

We are responsible for:

  • Coordinating and supporting research across the University of Hertfordshire
  • Advisory and support service to students, academic and research staff
  • External reporting, e.g. HEFCE, QAA, Research Councils, HESA, RAE/REF
  • Internal reporting to Research Degrees Board, Research Committee and senior management
  • Research management, policy, procedures
  • Research Degrees (fees, enrolment, examinations, appeals)
  • Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS)
  • Generic Training for Researchers
  • Research supervisor training
  • Research Grants (costings and monthly QR reports, funding opportunities and sponsor liaison, European research funding)

Where to find us

The research degreees team, part of Academic Services, is located on the first floor in the Titan Court building, opposite de Havilland campus.

The research grants and core teams are located on the second floor in the Maclaurin building, which is located opposite the De Havilland Campus.

 

Opening hours

The office is normally open from 8:30-5:00 and staff can be contacted by email or phone for information or to arrange an appointment. Contact the research office
