Ongoing research is in the areas of both human and physical geography, remote sensing and environmental science. Current projects include studies on the geographies of marginal land and adaptability, reconceptualising geographies of urban space, geographies of transport planning, glacial processes, alpine and arctic hydrology and hydrochemistry, clay geomorphology, water and the environment, image classification by remote sensing, riverine applications of remote sensing, plant pathology, crayfish conservation and the analysis of air pollution.
