Being freelance means I can work the hours which suit me best. Also, I love the work, particularly interviewing a variety of people from many walks of life in order to write their stories.
Become a PhD researcher
I fully enjoyed all the time spent in this marvellous intellectual journey called PhD. It is hard work, sometimes it can feel a bit of a lonely journey, but it is also exciting, challenging and very rewarding.

Don’t leave asking for advice too late. Lecturers and tutors are really keen to help, but they are not mind readers, you need to speak out!

It is never too late to choose a different path. My experience at university has been about so much more than simply gaining the qualifications I needed to enter into the teaching roles I look forward to applying to.
Select a work placement
Choose a placement you can really get involved in and are given responsibility, it will allow you to understand what you enjoy about your chosen subject.
