Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellent grades in school level qualifications and also met the Scholarship English language conditions as outlined below.

Undergraduate

Successful candidates will be required to achieve the equivalent of 340 UCAS points or above at UK A Level.

The marking scales used to assess performance in school-level qualifications vary significantly between type of qualification, country and individual subject areas. As a result, when deciding whether a candidate's grades represent outstanding academic performance, the University's experience and knowledge of the relevant educational system, qualification and marking scheme will be taken into consideration.

Postgraduate

Successful candidates will be required to achieve the equivalent of a UK First Class or strong Upper Second Class bachelor degree. Individual module/subject grades (including resits) will be considered.

As a general guide, this would equate to:

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) marking systems: a score of 3.0 or above (where the maximum score is 4.0), or of 3.75 or above (where the maximum score is 5.0)

Percentage marking systems: the marking scale used in percentage-based grading systems varies widely between countries, subjects and institutions. As a result, when deciding whether a candidate's grades represent outstanding academic performance, the University's experience and knowledge of the country's educational system, of the student's subject area and of the marking systems used by individual institutions will be taken into consideration.

Where appropriate, the overall ranking of the candidate within their cohort will also be taken into account.
