Incoming study abroad for other institutions

University of Hertfordshire Study Abroad Programme

The University of Hertfordshire offers a study abroad programme for students from universities outside of the UK, who wish to take a period of study abroad within their bachelors degree. You can join the programme for the fall or spring semesters, or for the whole academic year.

About the University

The University is located in south east England, close to London, with easy access to major road and rail networks, and three international airports, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted. As such, it can offer the ‘best of both worlds’ - a campus university, with excellent teaching, learning, residential and sports facilities, in a green and safe environment, yet less than half an hour by train from central London.

The University has around 22,000 students, of which around ten percent are from over 90 different countries. It offers over 550 bachelors programmes, as well as a range of masters degrees and research opportunities. It can therefore offer the widest possible choice of subjects for students wishing to study abroad. Indeed, all subjects, except for a few professionally related modules, are available to study abroad students.

The University is a leading new university in the UK, regularly featuring in the ‘Good University Guide’ listings published annually by the Sunday Times newspaper. It is highly regarded for the variety and flexibility of its programmes of study, its friendly atmosphere and its strong ‘business facing’ focus, which is reflected in programme content and graduate employability. Indeed, the University has excellent links with regional industry, for which it provides contract research, consultancy and students for internships.

The University has an active research community, with research of national and international excellence in a number of subjects. Engagement with research and scholarship enables staff to remain at the leading edge of their disciplines, so providing the best possible academic experience for students.

The University has two campuses located in Hatfield, at which all subjects, except for law, are taught, and where residential accommodation, the Sports Village, Students Union and other recreational facilities are located. The Law School is located in nearby St Albans, in the proximity of the law courts for the county.
