de Havilland Philharmonic - Soloist Erdem Misirlioglu
Rimsky-Korsakov’s Easter Festival Overture, is dedicated to his compatriots and musical peers, Mussorgsky and Borodin. A delightful work with the occasional excerpt from Russian Orthodox liturgical chants. Former Young Musician of the Year Piano Class winner Erdem Misirlioglu will join the orchestra to play Grieg’s Piano Concerto – filled with lyrical and heroic themes.
Stravinsky’s Petrushka ends the season with a bang! This ballet is the Russian fairytale of a puppet who comes alive and develops emotions. A dazzlingly complicated and imaginatively scored work, that will engage the listener with its constantly changing melodies and rhythms.
