de Havilland Philharmonic - 12 June

de Havilland Philharmonic

The de Havilland Philharmonic is delighted to welcome back John Lill, Britain’s most celebrated performer of Beethoven’s piano works.

John will perform Beethoven’s mighty Piano Concerto No.5, also known as The Emperor Concerto. This is Beethoven’s last piano concerto and has a big symphonic sound requiring strength, brilliance and mastery from the pianist to match the orchestral score.

The programme will also include Debussy’s La Mer a complex and hypnotic masterpiece of orchestral texture, featuring shimmering evocations of light, colour, and the sea itself.
