The Adventures of Prince Achmed (PG)

Prince Achmed - 1

Family Film Club

Just imagine making a film with characters made out of cardboard and tied together with string.

This technique, known as silhouette animation is used in The Adventures of Prince Achmed, the first ever feature length animation.

The film tells one of the many stories of the Arabian Nights. Prince Achmed, under an evil spell is forced to fly around the world on a magical horse. On the way he meets and befriends Aladdin and his lamp, finds a mysterious island, battles monsters and demons and falls in love with a beautiful princess.

The film is exquisitely different and complements our presentation of Mimika Theatre’s stunning Landscapes in March.
