MAYFEST - Dave Smith (Piano Recital)

A programme of piano works by John White, a unique figure in British music with a long involvement with the worlds of dance, theatre, experimentalism and electronica as well as with that of the concert hall. White’s musical vocabulary may seem familiar, but beneath the friendly surface is a world of subversive conservationism, steeped in historical reference.
Dave Smith, a long-standing friend and associate of the composer, performs a varied selection, a number of which he has recorded for UH Recordings.
