What Happens at an Open Day?
The Open Day is designed to help a you gain a better understanding of the course you've applied for and give you an insight into student life at the University of Hertfordshire.
The tour
You will be given a tour of the campus including:
- the student accommodation
- our state of the art learning resources centre
- the Biosciences, Geography or Sports labs (depending on which subject you've applied for) and the student union
The talk
You will also hear a talk presented by the admissions tutor for your course which will outline what:
- you will be studying
- placement opportunities exist in the UK and in North America and Europe
- kind of careers you can go into when you graduate.
What to bring
You will not need to bring anything except yourself! Our Open Days are a chance for you meet your lecturers and see the University in a relaxed and informal environment. You are of course welcome to bring two guests with you along to the day.
However, part of the campus tour will be outside so please remember to bring appropriate outdoor clothing.
We are here to help
Tutors from your course and students who are currently studying the degree you've applied for will be with you all day to answer any questions or concerns you might have.
We aim to give you an all round experience so that by the end of the day you will know whether or not the University of Hertfordshire is the right university for you.
