Anyone currently working in an area of health care practice
Course content
This module is primarily aimed at health care professionals who wish to develop an aspect clinical practice in order to enhance care for clients and those supporting them. It is envisaged that students will be working towards developing a specific aspect of practice. It is designed to develop skills in evaluating the current care provision, reviewing the evidence which supports the practice and developing a plan for developing care to the satisfaction of the intended clients. Students will develop skills in evaluation, literature searching, project management, and decision making and team working. Using a problem solving approach to their work, students will determine a practice initiative that is designed to enhance care for clients or the families they care for in their area of work. Students will agree targets to be met in order to disseminate their findings to peers. Making use of a range of e-learning facilities, students will discuss with each other strategies for extending their learning and develop autonomy to support personal learning.
