Stroke: evidence informed decision making
Who should attend this course?
This Stroke – evidence informed decision making course is suitable for all allied health professionals and nurses who wish to extend and enhance their knowledge to help underpin their decision making when working with patients post stroke.
It can be taken as a stand-alone day or as part of the neuro short course series.
You should be a qualified healthcare professional with experience of practice that involves the assessment and management of physical functioning in those who are post stroke.
Course content
This course aims to review and explore the current evidence base that underpins and guides decision making within the physical rehabilitation and management of those post stroke.
Consideration is given to the literature related to patients at the early stages of acute management, during rehabilitation both in hospital and at home, and also that later period of life after stroke.
All learning will be based upon the recommendations of the National Stroke Strategy as well as the National Clinical Guidelines for Stroke (4th edition), and will be aligned to the Stroke Specific Educational Framework.
