Continuing professional development

The School of Law is proud to have been providing CPD courses for over twenty years. The School forms part of the University of Hertfordshire, which is a charity exempt from registration under the Second Schedule to the Charities Act 1993.

The CPD Education Programme is primarily aimed at solicitors and is accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (Ref: LT.UHER), although some courses are also accredited by the Bar Council, the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLS) and the Institute for Legal Executives (ILEX). (Barristers should note that all of the CPD lectures and seminars on the Programme have been accredited by the Bar Council with the exception of a few which primarily relate to the development or management of firms of solicitors).

The CPD Education Programme promotes dissemination of knowledge, the fostering of links with the legal profession while responding to the needs of the business community as well as supporting the fund-raising efforts of the University.
