APL entry for UCF students
We offer a Masters programme in philosophy taught jointly at the University of Hertfordshire and Central Florida.
New approaches are challenging the traditional ways of conceiving of our interaction with the world and with others. These new approaches emphasize action, embodiment and narrative. This programme articulates and explores topics such as perception and action, practical reasoning, how we understand and interact with others (intersubjectivity, social cognition) and ethics. Studying with researchers at the forefront of these areas, both in Florida and England, you will have an opportunity to assess issues such as: standard and alternative models of human interaction and understanding; the role of narrative in our everyday understanding of intentional action; the dialogue between narrative approaches to ethics and traditional views; and the extent to which perception and imagination are integrated with bodily movement and action.
