Work placement
A 48 week (minimum) work placement is available on most courses during your Third Year.
You will work closely with our Placement Office during your Second Year to secure the right placement for you.
We have a long history of helping our students to find exciting and highly beneficial work placements as part of their course. Engineering Placement vacancies have included:
- Bentley
- Rolls Royce Motorcars
- Jaguar
- Airbus Industrie in Toulouse and Bristol
- BAE Systems
- EADS Astrium
- MBDA
- Qinetiq
- AWRE
Some of our placement students were subsequently offered a graduate position when they completed their studies in the same company where they spent their placement year.
Practical help and support
Our placement office will help and support you in how to:
- find a placement
- write an effective CVs
- complete application forms
- prepare for interviews and assessments centres
- liaise with companies offering placement positions
A Visiting Tutor will visit you in your placement during your year in industry to get feedback from you and your company mentor.
