We are a thriving School in a modern campus setting – constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity.

Our origins go back 125 years to an art college in St. Albans.

Hertfordshire College of Art and Design merged with our University in the 1990s, addition to our creative credentials.

Location

We are just twenty minutes by train from London, situated in the attractive setting of Hertfordshire.

A purpose-built £10.5 million Digital Facilities Building provides 4,500 square metres of work space for our expanding range of media activities including:

  • digital animation
  • rapid prototyping
  • web software
  • video and moving image.

We offer a special programme for international students to help you prepare for your degree studies - Preparing for Study in Art, Design, Film, Media and Music for International Students.

This can be taken as a summer school or completed over two semesters.

There are also overseas opportunities for students through study exchanges with our partners in Malaysia and Moscow.
