Range of Degree Titles

Flexibility and Choice

There is a wide range of degree titles but you do not need to decide between them until you have had the chance to experience the different aspects and can make an informed choice. There are three main points at which you need to make a choice

1. Choice of Computer Science or IT: decide mid-way through the first year
Computer Science: a technology and software development focus
Information Technology: a business and solutions focus

2. Choice of sandwich or full-time: during the second year
Sandwich: a four year course with your third year spent on a paid work placement
Full-time: a three year course

3. Choice of Specialism: at the start of the final year
custom: there is a full choice of modules, keeping your career options open
specialist: a specialism is added to a broad base

When applying through UCAS, you do need to specify a particular degree title; but you can make your final decision at the stages shown above.
