Return to specialist community public health nursing

Who should attend this course?

All nurses and Specialist Community Pubic Health nurses who are registered with the NMC on Part 3 of the nursing register and whose registration has lapsed.

Course content

The return to specialist community public health nursing course will explore contemporary policies and practice relating to the promotion and protection of children’s health, including family support. Current priorities in public health will be examined and their implications for public health nursing will be examined. The role of the public health nurse in leadership and management will also be considered.

Assessment

Successful candidates will need to:

  • Complete the required hours in practice
  • Pass the practice competencies contained in the Practice Portfolio (Including the standards of proficiency required for entry on Part 3 of the NMC Register).
  • You will also need to demonstrate appropriate knowledge in a reflective essay on an aspect of public health nursing that has changed in practice.
