This course is also combined with our Comparing Groups course as our two-day Essential Data Analysis course. All courses take place on the University's state-of-the-art de Havilland campus.

Who is it for?

This course is aimed at all who need to examine their data for relationships that may or may not exist, whether the data comes from a survey, experiment or elsewhere. As well as being open to delegates from outside the University of Hertfordshire, this course also forms part of the training available to research students at the University along with our Getting Started with Stats and Comparing Groups.

What prior knowledge is assumed?

It is assumed that delegates on this course will have knowledge of probability, the Normal distribution and hypothesis testing. Those whose experience of these topics is some time in the past should find sufficient reminders given to enable them to participate fully.

What does the course cover?

The topics covered in the course are:

  • Excel
  • SPSS
  • Correlation
  • Simple linear regression
  • Multiple regression
  • Chi-square test of independence

Course fees

Course fee: £275 (includes teas/coffees and lunch).

Discounts are available for those attending more than one course (such as the preceding Getting Started with Stats and Comparing Groups), and research students. Those on limited incomes should contact the course organisers to discuss their situation.
