Preparation for Degree Study for International Students in Art, Design, Film, Music and Media
About the course
The programme helps you to gain additional English skills, focused on specialist vocabulary for your degree, design study skills, and additional skills in creative practical subjects. You are guaranteed a place on your chosen degree on successful completion of the programme.
Your study programme will be designed to meet your individual needs related to your previous experience, and aims to help you to develop your full potential while studying within an excellent environment. Students are taught in small numbers and supported by a programme tutor who will help you study successfully. Specialist language and study skills modules are designed to help you apply your skills to creative research and study in art, design, film music and media. There are two main pathways, preparing you for entry to the first year of a degree programme, or advanced entry into the second or third year. There is also a route to prepare you for entry to a Master's Degree.
A feature of the programme is the amount of support for individual students and teaching from staff with a special interest in working with International students.
Students can enter this programme in Semester A or B, or choose to study it as part of a Summer School intensive over eight weeks prior to the start of the main academic year. 120 credits are available for semester A entrants, and 60 credits for semester B and C entrants.
