Course content

This course will review and explore the current evidence base that underpins and guides decision making within the physical rehabilitation and management of those with Parkinson’s disease.

In reviewing the current evidence base, decision making involving the management and rehabilitation of patients who have Parkinson’s disease will be explored.

A brief overview will be given to the current understanding of the basal ganglia and how this links to our understanding of the disease process and the medical and therapy management offered to patients.

Consideration will then be given to the evidence related to the physical rehabilitation and management of patients at different stages of the disease procession.
