The Musculoskeletal radiography: trauma recognition course is suitable for diagnostic radiographers working in a trauma environment.

Course content

The aim of the Musculoskeletal radiography: trauma recognition course is to enhance radiographers’ awareness of abnormal radiographic appearances in musculoskeletal trauma. It prepares radiographers for participation in an informal reporting scheme.

Course content

The Musculoskeletal radiography: trauma recognition course includes an introduction to image appreciation of the upper limb, lower limb, spine and facial bones.

It considers:

  • Normal versus abnormal appearances
  • Consideration for traumatic appearances
  • Common pitfalls in misinterpretation
  • Considerations in paediatric radiography

Participants will receive a CD with lectures and workshops and additional quizzes for self-assessment at the end of the course.

16.45-17.00 Summary and close - Introduction to radiographer written commenting for trauma radiographs course
