Course content
The course will review and explore the current evidence base that underpins and guides decision making within the rehabilitation and management of those with balance dysfunction resultant from neurological impairment. Consideration will be given to the assessment of balance and a review of both the different potential primary deficits involved (sensory, cognitive, motor) as well as the contribution from secondary systems (MSK and Cresp). Treatment and management will be considered both in generic terms, as well as with specific reference to different groups such as Parkinson’s and atypical Parkinson’s, MS (inc. a review of ataxia), TBI and stroke.
