Introduction to Multilevel Modelling

Course dates:

To be arranged

Who is the course for?

This course is aimed at those researchers whose data have a hierarchical structure such as pupils grouped in schools, patients grouped within GP practices, etc. For this sort of data, traditional regression methods are inappropriate because the assumption of independence of cases is violated. This course will introduce participants to the use of multilevel modelling for continuous responses, including the package MLwiN.

Please see our full list of courses for available dates and details of costs.

What prior knowledge is assumed?

It is assumed that delegates on this course will have a knowledge of traditional regression techniques.

What does the course cover?

The topics covered in the course are:

  • Types of multilevel data
  • The problem with traditional regression techniques
  • Creating multilevel models for continuous responses
  • Using MLwiN to fit multilevel models
  • Interpreting the results of a multilevel analysis

Why choose this course?

  • Do you have data which are grouped together?
  • Have you heard about multilevel modelling and wondered what it is?
  • You need to have an Introduction to Multilevel Modelling

Entry requirements...

It is assumed that delegates on this course will have a knowledge of traditional regression techniques.
