Who should attend this course
This Introduction to cognitive behavioural therapy course is aimed at mental health professionals who wish to include CBT interventions in their practice.
Other professionals who may have previously studied this module include: nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, health visitors and psychotherapists/ counsellors.
This module may be taken as a standalone module or contribute towards the BSc Hons in Mental Health.
Course content
The aim of the course is to teach you how to assess clients using a CBT framework and use appropriate CBT interventions with your client group. At the end of the course you will have:
- a basic knowledge and understanding of CBT theory and practice
- skills in basic CBT interventions that can be incorporated into mental health practice
- an understanding of measurement of outcomes
