The Immunology: basic terms and techniques course is designed for scientists, who want to gain an up-to-date understanding of immunology terms through a series of short lectures, demonstrations and hands-on laboratory work.

Course content
The course covers the following subject areas:
- An overview of natural and adaptive immunity
- Cellular and soluble components of the immune system
- The role of B cells and T cells in immunity
- Cytokines and chemokines in inflammation
- Structure and function of antibodies
- Production of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies and their uses e.g. clinical, ELISA, western blotting

Self-funding home students £250 (excluding VAT). This includes light refreshments, buffet-style lunch and course notes.
