The subject

This stimulating course develops your understanding of the diverse experiences of health and ill health, from the individual viewpoint to local, national and international contexts. Health is a dynamic subject within which you will explore contemporary health issues and changes in the political agenda.

The First Year introduces you to the different concepts and perspectives used when looking at health, developing your research skills and evidence base.

The Second Year further develops your understanding of the complexities of health and healthcare, examining ethical issues, how health affects populations and strategies for improving the health of the individual and wider communities.

During your Final Year, you will have the opportunity to undertake a project developing your own area of interest. You will also study global health, which encourages you to analyse the international health agenda and debate controversial issues.
