Course structure - Blended Learning Programme
The CIPS Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply is a supported distance programme offering personalised online support from your tutor plus face to face consilidation and revision in the classroom. Based on a combined approach of drstance learning with individual tutorial support, this blended option is designed with the employed or self-employed adult learner in mind; one who has some experience of the business world, and who needs to study in conjunction with a career.
Compulsary Unit - Managing Risks in Supply Chains
This unit is designed to enable students to undertake risk analysis and a variety of risk assessments relating to different aspects of purchasing and supply and to implement a range of appropriate risk management tools and techniques.
Compulsary Unit - Improving the Competitiveness of Supply Chains
This unit is designed to provide students with an appreciation of the basic principles of marketing so they can interact more effectively with marketing colleagues within their organisation.
Option Unit- Operations Mangement in Supply Chains
On completion, candidates will be able to explain designs, plans, processes or systems for the improved control or improvement of operations.
Operations Management refers to the process of converting input resources into the outputs of products or services that occur across a range of sectors such as in manufacturing, construction, retail, services and public sectors.
Compulsary Unit- Management in Procurement and Supply
In order to achieve expertise in developing and fulfilling organisational and functional objectives in procurement and supply, it is essential that candidates gain a wider appreciation of theories and techniques that relate to managing people involved with the procurement and supply function.
Option Unit - Catergory Management in Procurement and Supply
This unit focuses on differing approaches or methodologies for strategic sourcing and category management, demonstrating the role of the procurement and supply chain specialist in leading these approaches.
Option Unit - Sustainability in Supply Chains
This unit explores the concepts and initiatives in sustainability which includes aspects of corporate social responsibility. It includes the impact on communities and societies, environmental aspects of sourcing, ethical trading and working standards.

Entry requirements...
Students must have completed the CIPS Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Purchasing and Supply. Some exemptions may be available and further guidance on entry requirements can be obtained from CIPS.
Course fees
The cost to the individual is £585 per unit, payment for the full programme in advance attracts a 10% discount costing £2632.50.
These fees include course materials and the recommended textbook for each unit, but not CIPS membership or examination fees.
