CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing

More About the Course

This course consits of four units, taught via weekend workshops and supported by distance learning. There will be three weekend day workshops (9.30-17.00) with additional online support per module:

  • Unit 1: The Marketing Planning Process (Assessment by written assignment)
  • Unit 2: Delivering Customer Value through Marketing (Assessment by case study examination)
  • Unit 3: Managing Marketing (Assessment by written assignment)
  • Unit 4: Project Management in Marketing (Assessment by written assignment)

This course is for those who have already gained some knowledge and/or experience of marketing. The focus is on the planning and operational aspects of marketing management.

You will focus on the many skills needed to manage the marketing function itself – including:

  • channel management
  • communications
  • new product development.

It should normally take between nine and fifteen months to complete, and assessment is by written examination for each module.

You can start in September or January of each year, and the qualification normally takes between nine and fifteen months to complete. You can tailor your pace of study to fit your other commitments.

The CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing has been designed in conjunction with employers to help you gain the skills you need to further your marketing career.

This course is for those who have already gained some knowledge and/or experience of marketing. The focus is on the planning and operational aspects of marketing management.

What will you learn?

This qualification has been designed to enable students to:

  • Utilise highly specialist technical or scholastic skills across an area of study and utilise research skills
  • Critically evaluate new information, concepts and evidence from a range of sources
  • Begin to lead multiple, complex and heterogeneous groups and exercise judgement in a number of complex planning, design, technical and/or management functions related to products, services, operations or processes including resources
  • Ultimately, students are expected to transfer and apply diagnostic and creative skills in a range of situations.

Entry requirements...

You will need to meet at least one of these criteria:

-Any business or marketing Bachelor's or Master's Degree (or equivalent) where a minimum of one third of the credits come from marketing (i.e. 120 credits in a Bachelors degrees or 60 credits with Masters Degrees)

or

-Experience in a marketing management role that has provided potential students with knowledge and competence equivalent to the learning outcomes of the CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing and is sufficient to pass the Entry Test to Level 6

Note: Entry level is dependent upon the currency and relevance of your qualifications and experience. If English is not your first language, you will also need to provide evidence of at least IELTS 6.5 or Trinity ISE III/IV.

£625 per module

£2,250 if you pay for the full programme in advance (attracting a 10% discount).

UH alumni, staff and students receive a 15% discount.
