Who should attend this course?

The Childhood immunisation and vaccination course is designed as an update and refresher to staff involved in childhood immunisations.

Course content

This study day provides an overview of the principles and practice of childhood immunisation. The course is based on the core curriculum for immunisation set out by the Health Protection Agency.

Please note; anaphylaxis and Basic Life Support training is available as a separate study day.

For those new to immunisation the e-leaning packages; NHS core learning, www.corelearningunit.nhs.uk and the immunisation module within the new Healthy Child. www.e-lfh.org.uk/projects/healthychild/  will augment this 1 day course.

This course will give participants the knowledge required to safely give childhood vaccines. The course will provide participants with: An understanding of the current schedule, national policy and an opportunity to discuss managing parents concerns and complex histories. Participants will have the knowledge to safely develop practical skills in the workplace.
